BUSINESS PLAN PRESENTATION
Everyday, scores of people from rural areas migrate to nearby cities in search of work. Used to working and relaxing in widespread green fields, they are forced to work in dungeons and crammed areas in cities. WHY?
Because they do not have enough scope of employment in rural areas, that can feed them and their family. Industrialization happens only near urban areas, as it gets the right infrastructure support. Does that mean that rural areas will always be deprived of industries that can generate employment? Villagers try to sell their products in urban areas, so that they can fetch more money. But the demands / requirements of 70% of our population (in rural areas) is never met, as they cannot pay as much. Thus with decreasing production, less skills for livelihood, reducing scope of employment, and sinking businesses, people are running away from villages to cities, to do anything and everything there What do you think needs to be done and how? Can setting up a self-sustaining institution to upgrade their hard and soft skills, give them employment in rural areas? Can setting up a chain of small scale / cottage industry generate employment there? Can creating business models for infrastructure development, generate employment there? Can improved farming processes and supply chain management generate employment there? Can better utilization of resources generate employment there? Can efficient waste management generate employment there? Can any financing model generate sustainable employment there? Can..... Can..... Put your thoughts together and see how various Business models can help in generating enough employment in rural areas, so that villagers do not have to migrate to urban areas. Present your thoughts in the form of a Business Plan at PEHAL-2013. The most innovative, simple, practical, economical, sustainable and replicable solutions will get the awards.
